Location of Foligno

Foligno is in the centre of the historic area of Umbria.  It is only  1 1/2 hours from Rome by car, less by the Eurostar trains. 

In Foligno, you will experience the joy of living in a true Italian town, with daily produce markets, local delicatessens, good cafes and bars, and interesting restaurants with local Umbrian cuisine.  The apartment is just behind the main Piazza della Repubblica, at the end of which is the Palazzo Trinci containing 15th century frescoes.

Every evening, the Piazza is abuzz with la passegiata, where people meander and greet each other on their late afternoon walks.  The shopping in Foligno is excellent, particularly for shoes and leather goods.  Foligno is surrounded by picturesque hilltop towns and villages, such as Montefalco, Spello, Assisi and Spoleto.  Perugia is only 25 minutes away.

• Misticanza in Foligno in May
• I primi d'Italia – Food and wine festival in October
• Wine harvest week in Montefalco in mid September
• Infiorata – the flower festival in Spello in June
